PRETTY DEFINED

DEFINE YOUR PRETTY is 501(c)3 non‐profit empowerment and mentoring organization established to promote wellness and awareness in young women, as well as to encourage dialogue and analysis of the ways women are portrayed in the media.

DEFINE YOUR PRETTY has been dedicated to the development of young women and girls. DEFINE YOUR PRETTY seeks to build the self‐esteem and self‐worth of young women by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves. For the past year we have enjoyed the opportunity to enrich the lives of young women through mentorship, arts, education, cultural exploration and public service.

Kita and Mo from VH1’s “T.O.” Show” are the co‐creators and Executive Producers of the hit Reality Show. Working with Terrell Owens, one of the greatest athletes in sports, Kita & Mo know what it takes to make a dream a “reality”! Their commitment and experience in coaching others to their highest potential is what has given this dynamic duo their success. Empowering other women to do the same is their mission. They believe the first step to success is looking in the mirror and loving YOU! That’s why these two ladies have decided to launch, DEFINE YOUR PRETTY, a movement designed to improve the self‐esteem of young girls, teens and all women.

THE FOUNDERS

MONIQUE JACKSON & KITA WILLIAMS This dynamic duo are the first African-American women to Create, Executive Produce and star in a reality show. The T.O. Show is what they call their “baby” and it was a lot of labor pains to make this dream a reality. The T.O. Show is in its 3rd season on VH1 and is one of the highest rated reality shows on the network. Currently, Jackson and Williams are continiuing to build their business brand and have created a new Hair & Beauty brand called Define Your Pretty Collection. Check it out on the site!

MONIQUE JACKSON was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where she dreamed of being a nurse, minister and an entertainer. Monique credits an early desire to see people happy and whole as the reason behind her aspirations. While studying at Central State, she quickly learned that her dreams would be best realized on the west coast. Through hard work and dedication she was able to achieve career success in positions at Universal Pictures and the highly competitive and coveted world at Island Def Jam. Monique points to her reputation for being a detailed professional as the greatest skill for her transition to successful entrepreneur.

In between managing the careers and projects of a roster of big personality clients, Monique also juggles the demands of being both a wife and mother to three beautiful sons. Monique counts the support, friendship and partnership with Kita as a key ingredient to managing her life while pursuing her dreams.

You can reach Mo at Mo@defineyourpretty.com or by following her on twitter @MoniqueJackson

KITA WILLIAMS was born in Louisville, Kentucky as one of five children. Williams was the product of a teenage mom and a father who did not complete high school. The Louisvillian native experienced many challenges that have given her the tenacity and drive to keep moving forward regardless of her situation. She earned her BA in Journalism from the University of Kentucky and later earned her MBA so that could be a powerhouse in the boardroom. The TO Show is actually Kita’s second foray in front of the cameras. Her career started as a news reporter while still in Kentucky. The most pivotal decision she made was to save $5,000 at the age of 24 to move to California in pursuit of a highly competitive internship with a national media outlet.

After working for the prestigious PR firm, Rogers & Cowan, Island Def Jam came calling where she was named the Music Group’s Director of Publicity for the West Coast. She’s worked with big artists such as Jay Z, Mariah Carey, Ludacris, and Destiny’s Child to name a few. Kita credits her opportunity at Island Def Jam for teaching her the business and introducing her to her sister, business partner and friend, Monique “Mo” Jackson.
